Fall After-School Multimedia Class (via Zoom, Ages 5 – 7)

Land, Sea, and Sky

Move between painting and sculpting techniques as you reimagine the shapes, patterns, and textures of 2-dimensional landscapes, seascapes, and skyscapes from the Museum’s collection in 3-D. Drawing, painting, collage, and unexpected materials such as wood, wire, and modeling compound are utilized in the creation of three unique works of art during this class.

Class fees include custom art kits with all project materials. The kits will be available for curbside pick-up at the Ridley-Tree Education Center at McCormick House the Friday before the start of each session.

Instructor: Jason Summers
Jason Summers has been a teaching artist with the Santa Barbara Museum of Art for over 21 years. After years of outreach programs in schools, special events for families and educators, and seasonal art camps at our beloved Ridley-Tree Education Center at McCormick House, Jason’s heart is warm with the community connections and growing relationships with children and families through art! Jason loves to build with wood, sculpt with clay, collect rocks and plants to create artistic garden landscapes, and play just about any musical instrument he can find. Jason has a wonderful teenage son, they love to go on adventures in the Santa Barbara mountains and ocean together.
