A Week on the Amalfi Coast featuring Pompeii and Herculaneum
September 1 to 9, 2010

Delight in the scenic grandeur of the Amalfi Coast with its varied architecture and picturesque vertical landscape. Pastel-colored towns that cling to the cliffs are connected by the serpentine Amalfi Drive. Spend a week in the village of Vietri dul Mare, centrally located on Amalfi Drive and a perfect base from which to explore the region. Visit the spectacular 13th-century Villa Ruffolo in Ravello with its Arabesque architecture and exquisitely manicured terraced garden. Spend an afternoon in the town of Amalfi, known for its medieval architecture including the 11th-century Duomo at the heart of the city. Visit Sorrento, perched on a cliff above its lovely harbor. Cruise across the Gulf of Naples to spend a day exploring the Isle of Capri. Nearby are some of the best preserved ancient ruins to be found outside of Greece in Herculaneum, Pompeii, and Paestum. The tour begins and ends in Naples. $3,195.
