The Santa Barbara Museum of Art presents internationally recognized collections and exhibitions and a broad array of cultural and educational activities.  The Museum's Education Department is seeking an energetic ceramics teacher to instruct summer ArtVenture Camps at the Ridley-Tree Education Center at McCormick House.

Responsibilities include creating and teaching age appropriate ceramic lessons, preferably based on objects and medium in the Santa Barbara Museum of Art’s collections and exhibitions as well as other recognized artists and art movements. The ideal candidate will have excellent people and art skills and will enjoy working in a team environment.   BA degree and teaching experience is preferred and a thorough knowledge of art materials and techniques in ceramics.  Prior teaching and curriculum development experience is required.

  • The position reports to the Manager, School and Docent Programs.
  • Schedule: 20 hours per week from January through May, 2019, 40 hours per week from June through August 2019
  • Salary is $20 to $25.00/hour DOE
  • Successful Background Check is required.
