Treasures of Costa Rica, Panama Canal, and Colombia aboard Hebridean Sky

Cruise from Costa Rica to Colombia and through the Panama Canal on a 10-night voyage that is much more in depth than the typical Panama Canal cruise. In Costa Rica, the region’s natural beauty comes alive—rainforests teeming with exotic wildlife and bird species; white sand beaches fringed by sparkling azure waters; and dense forests that cascade down impressive mountainsides to the shore. In the UNESCO World Heritage site of Panama City, visit the new Frank Gehry-designed Biomuseo highlighting Panama’s natural and cultural history. Transit the Panama Canal during the day to witness the engineering ingenuity and visit the newly opened Agua Clara Locks used for super tankers. Continue to the San Blas Islands, famous for the multi-colored mola textiles made by the Kuna Yala who maintain this and many other customs of their ancestors. Conclude the journey in Cartagena, the Caribbean’s colonial crown jewel, a UNESCO World Heritage site with beautifully restored Spanish colonial buildings. Lecturers from our cosponsoring organizations will give talks on board the 57-cabin ship.
