Charles Long’s interactive sculpture plays with our desire to find something we recognize in what has been described as a “brown blob.” Unlike other works of art in the galleries upstairs, this clay sculpture is designed by the artist to be touched , molded, and altered. Dig in, and create your own small surface sculptures. Take in the strawberry and pistachio colors of the walls to see why “sundae” takes on a whole new meaning. In addition, Teaching Artists are available to help visitors create companion mixed-media drawings―to take home or display in the space.
