A Modern Escape: Dudamel and The Broad
Board a chartered coach in Santa Barbara on Saturday morning and head off to Grand Avenue in downtown L.A. for a self‐guided tour of The Broad (they do not allow group tours, however, we will bypass the normal ticketing line and receive a greeting and museum introduction by a staff person.)
During free time in the afternoon for lunch on own, you may also choose to visit MOCA. In the evening we will enjoy dinner at the forthcoming restaurant Otium, where we have secured an advance reservation.
At a Sunday matinee performance, we will see the world’s most sought‐after conductor, Gustavo Dudamel, in action, as he leads music from North and South America, including the work John Williams wrote for the opening of Walt Disney Concert Hall and a world premiere from L.A.‐based Andrew Norman. Now in his seventh season as Music & Artistic Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, one of the world’s leading orchestras, Dudamel.
