El Taller

A Family Studio for Dia de los Muertos!

Los Angeles-based non-profit organization, ART DIVISION, transforms the Museum’s Family Resource center into El Taller, a workshop inspired by the prints of Jose Guadalupe Posada and the Mexican tradition of Dia de los Muertos. ART DIVISION is founded by artist Dan McCleary in 2010 is dedicated to training and supporting underserved youth who are committed to studying the visual arts.

Schedule of Events

  • October 13 – 16
    Stop by during Museum hours to see ART DIVISION transform the space into El Taller.

  • Thursday, October 15, 5 – 8 pm
    Participate in a FREE pop-up evening of public printmaking with ART DIVISION.

  • Saturdays, October 17, 24, 11 am – 3 pm
    Sundays, October 18, 25; November 1, 1 – 4 pm

    Work with SBMA Teaching Artists to create postcard prints and messages to those you wish to remember―to display in the community studio or to take home.
